So…I had a bit of a lapse this month and bought more than a few new books. I swear, that’s it until after the holidays!
One of my new books is Kate McDermmot’s Art of the Pie. I love pie. It’s my absolute favourite thing to cook (even if the pastry drives me crazy
sometimes every time). I had the day off work, so I decided to cook myself a little 4.5 inch pie. This book had a recipe for pear pie, which I have never made before, so I decided to give it a go.
I didn’t use the pastry recipe/method in the book (I’ll try that later), but the pie was very tasty. I was a bit worried that the spices (cinnamon, nutmeg and all spice) were going to overpower the pears, but their flavour still shone through. My neighbour thought it was very tasty too 🙂
